Some Questions that the Shi'ah Don't Like to Answer

[Français]

Quelques questions à poser aux Shi‘ah

Some questions to ask shi`as

1. The Shias believe that Ali (radiAllahu Anhu) was infallible. Nevertheless, we find him – as confessed by the shias themseleves – giving his daughter Umm Kulthum, the full sister of al-Hasan and Husaain (RadiAllahu Anhu), in marriage to Umar ibn Al Khattab (Radiallahu `anhu). The Shias must here accept one of two bitter choices:

First: That Ali (r) was not infallible, for he gave his daughter in marriage to an unbeliever and to believe this definitely contradicts the main foundation of the Shia Ideology. Not only this, it goes further to nullify the claim of infallibility of all other imams who came after him.

Second: That Umar (r) was a Muslim and that Ali accepted to be his father in law and accepted him to be his son-in-law.

Q2: The Shias claim that Abu Bakr and Umar (r.a.a) were unbelievers. But we find that Ali (r.a), an infallible Imam according to the shias, accepted and endorsed their caliphates and pledged his allegiance to each of them, one after the other and never revolted against them., Why? Does this take away Ali's infallibility or prove `Umar was a Muslim ?
