Jugement sur le fait de célébrer les fêtes des mécréants | Ruling on Celebrating the Festivals of the Disbelievers

L’Imâm adh-Dhahabî [qu’Allah lui fasse miséricorde] a dit :

Celui qui va dans les lieux de leurs fêtes ou assiste à leurs célébrations, alors cette personne est pécheresse et odieuse. Ceci est le cas car la personne va volontairement assister aux activités pécheresses et elle n’est pas dans aucune position de les interdire.

Le Prophète [Paix et Bénédictions d’Allah soient sur lui] a dit : « Si l’un de vous voit un péché, alors arrêtez-le avec votre main (si vous avez l’autorité de le faire) sinon, arrêtez-le avec votre parole (si vous en êtes capables) et si vous ne le pouvez pas, alors au moins détestez-le dans votre cœur, et cela est la plus basse forme de Îmân (c.-à-d. il est obligatoire à tous ceux qui croient de détester ce qu’Allah a interdit). » [Rapporté par Muslim (78)]

Alors, comment grand est-il [le péché] d'assister aux fêtes des Juifs et des Chrétiens? De faire comme ils le font? D’acheter les mêmes produits qu’ils achètent afin de célébrer leurs fêtes? Ceci, en réalité, est en train de donner vie à l’adoration de la croix, à l’innovation de nouvelles fêtes dans notre religion, et d’assister et d’imiter les Mushrikîn dans leurs fêtes. 

Mais une personne pourrait dire : « Mais, je n’ai pas l’intention de les imiter dans cette célébration. »

Je dis : Faire partie de leurs célébrations et les imiter est Harâm. La preuve pour cela est où le Messager d’Allah [Paix et Bénédictions d’Allah soient sur lui] a dit après avoir interdit les Musulmans de prier au moment où le soleil se levait et se couchait, « En vérité, il se lève entre les cornes de Shaytân et au moment où les Kuffâr se prosternent à cause de ceci. » [Rapporté par Muslim (832)]

La personne qui prie n’a pas la même intention qu’eux, cependant, il est toujours interdit pour elle de prier car elle sera alors comme eux et sera considérée comme étant en train de coopérer avec eux, cela est donc Harâm.

Véritablement, les enfants Musulmans participant à de telles fêtes sont également affectés. L’amour pour ces fêtes est placé dans leurs cœurs car ils y trouvent du plaisir, se déguisent, mangent de la bonne nourriture, etc.

Alors, à quel point il est mauvais le parent qui expose ses enfants à cela, Ô Musulman!? Si vous n’interdisez pas vos enfants, alors vous et eux seront détruits. Ils obtiendront une identité de Kâfir (en participant et en obtenant l’amour pour leur religion).

Donc, il n’est pas permis pour nous de participer aux célébrations de leurs fêtes et ceci est quelque chose que le Shaytân a inspiré dans plusieurs gens à travers leur ignorance, jusqu’au point où même les savants sont devenus négligents même s’ils ont de la connaissance, mais leur connaissance est plutôt quelque chose de nuisible pour eux (c.-à-d. un péché).

Imaam adh-Dhahabee [May Allaah have Mercy on him] said:

Whoever goes to the places of their festivals or witnesses their celebrations then this person is sinful and obnoxious. This is because the person is voluntarily going to witness sinful activities and he is in no position to forbid them.

The Prophet [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “If any one of you see a sin then stop it with your hand (if you have the authority to do so) otherwise stop it with your speech (if you are able) and if you can’t, then at least hate it in your heart, and that is the lowest form of Emaan (i.e. obligatory upon everyone who believes to hate what Allaah has Forbidden).” [Narrated by Muslim (78)]

So how great (of a sin) is it to witness the festivals of the Jews and the Christians? To do as they do? Buying the same products they buy in order to celebrate their festivals? This, in actuality, is giving life to the worship of the cross, innovating new festivals into our religion, and assisting and imitating the Mushriks in their festivals.

But a person may say, ‘But I don’t intend to imitate them in this celebration’.

I say: Being a part of their celebrations and imitating them is Haraam. The evidence for this is where the Messenger of Allaah [Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him] said after forbidding the Muslims from praying at the time when the sunrises and sets, “Verily it rises in between the horns of the Shaytaan and a time when the Kuffaar prostrate at this time because of this.” [Narrated by Muslim (832)]

The praying person doesn't have the same intention as they do, however he is still prohibited from praying because he will then be like them and be considered as cooperating with them, thus it is Haraam.

Verily, Muslim children participating in such festivals are also effected. Love for these festivals is placed in their hearts because they find enjoyment in them, dressings up, eating nice food etc.

So how bad is the parent who exposes his children to this, Oh Muslim!? If you don’t forbid your children then you and they will be destroyed. They will gain a Kaafir identity (by partaking and gaining love for their religion).

So it is not permissible for us to partake in celebrating their festivals and this is something that the Shaytaan has instilled in many people through their ignorance, to the extent that even the scholars have become negligent even though they have knowledge, rather, their knowledge is something harmful to them (i.e. a sin).
