Sheikh `Abdul Qâdir al-Jîlânî (Rahimahullah) a dit :
« Et s'il dit 'Salâm', ne lui répondez pas et apprenez-le que ceci
(c.-à-d. dire Salâm) n'est pas une salutation Islamique (et qu'il doit
plutôt dire "Assalâmu `Alaykum") »
