Rapporté par `Urwah bin Zubayr : `Â’ishah, l’épouse du Prophète (ﷺ) lui a dit qu’il y avait quatre types de mariage durant la période préislamique de l’ignorance;
1) Un de ces types (de mariage) était semblable à celui d’aujourd’hui c.-à-d. un homme demandait à quelqu’un d’autre pour la main d’une fille sous sa tutelle ou pour la main de sa fille, et donnait le Mahr et ensuite l’épousait.
2) Le deuxième type (de mariage) était qu’un homme disait à sa femme après qu’elle était devenue propre (à la suite de) ses menstrues : « Envoie pour untel et aie des relations sexuelles avec lui. » Son mari restait donc loin d’elle et ne couchait jamais avec elle jusqu’à ce qu’elle tombait enceinte de l’autre homme avec lequel elle avait couché. Lorsque sa grossesse était devenue évidente, son mari couchait avec elle s’il le souhaitait. Son mari faisait cela (c-à-d. laisser sa femme coucher avec un autre homme) pour qu’il puisse avoir un enfant d’une noble race. Ce type de mariage s’appelait Al-Istibdâ`.
3) Un autre type de mariage était qu’un groupe de moins de dix hommes se rassemblait et (allait voir) une femme, et chacun d’eux avait des relations sexuelles avec elle. Si elle était devenue enceinte et accouchait d’un enfant et quelques jours s’étaient écoulés après l’accouchement, elle les faisait tous venir et aucun d’entre eux ne refusait de venir, elle leur disait : « Vous savez (tous) ce que vous avez fait, et maintenant j’ai donné naissance à un enfant. Donc, c’est ton enfant, untel! » Elle nommait quiconque elle voulait, et son enfant l’accompagnait et il ne pouvait pas refuser de le prendre.
4) Le quatrième type de mariage était que plusieurs gens allaient voir une femme et elle ne refusait jamais à personne qui venait à elle. Celles-là étaient les prostituées qui fixaient des drapeaux à leurs portes comme signe, et celui qui le souhaitait, pouvait avoir des relations sexuelles avec elles. Si l’une d’entre elles était tombée enceinte et avait accouché d’un enfant, alors tous ces hommes étaient réunis pour elle et ils faisaient venir les Qa’if (personnes douées pour la reconnaissance de la ressemblance d’un enfant à son père) à eux et laissaient l’enfant accompagner l’homme (qu’ils ont reconnu comme étant son père) et elle le laissait adhérer à lui et se faire appeler son fils. L’homme ne refusait pas du tout.
Mais lorsque Muhammad (ﷺ) a été envoyé avec la Vérité, il a aboli tous les types de mariages observés durant la période préislamique de l’Ignorance à l’exception du type de mariage que les gens reconnaissent aujourd’hui.

Une fois de plus, l’Islam démontre comment il abolit le mauvais traitement des femmes et la pratique de les traiter comme une marchandise, comme les prétendants du monde moderne et libre le font en utilisant des femmes nues dans les publicités de savons, etc.

Narrated 'Urwa bin Az-Zubair: 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) told him that there were four types of marriage during Pre-Islamic period of Ignorance.
1) One type was similar to that of the present day i.e. a man used to ask somebody else for the hand of a girl under his guardianship or for his daughter's hand, and give her Mahr and then marry her.
2) The second type was that a man would say to his wife after she had become clean from her period. "Send for so-and-so and have sexual intercourse with him." Her husband would then keep awy from her and would never sleep with her till she got pregnant from the other man with whom she was sleeping. When her pregnancy became evident, he husband would sleep with her if he wished. Her husband did so (i.e. let his wife sleep with some other man) so that he might have a child of noble breed. Such marriage was called as Al-Istibda'.
3) Another type of marriage was that a group of less than ten men would assemble and enter upon a woman, and all of them would have sexual relation with her. If she became pregnant and delivered a child and some days had passed after delivery, she would sent for all of them and none of them would refuse to come, and when they all gathered before her, she would say to them, "You (all) know waht you have done, and now I have given birth to a child. So, it is your child so-and-so!" naming whoever she liked, and her child would follow him and he could not refuse to take him.
4) The fourth type of marriage was that many people would enter upon a lady and she would never refuse anyone who came to her. Those were the prostitutes who used to fix flags at their doors as sign, and he who would wished, could have sexual intercourse with them. If anyone of them got pregnant and delivered a child, then all those men would be gathered for her and they would call the Qa'if (persons skilled in recognizing the likeness of a child to his father) to them and would let the child follow the man (whom they recognized as his father) and she would let him adhere to him and be called his son. The man would not refuse all that.
But when Muhammad (ﷺ) was sent with the Truth, he abolished all the types of marriages observed in pre-Islamic period of Ignorance except the type of marriage the people recognize today.

Once again Islam shows how it abolishes the misuse of women, and the practise of treating them like a commodity the way the claimants of modern free world do by using naked women even in soap commercials and etc.
