Shaykh Baladhuri (Rahimahullah) dans son œuvre magnifique a transmis une histoire :
Ma’n, ayant peur de l’hiver et de ses tempêtes, s’est retiré vers Bust.
Certains des Khawarij, qui s’opposaient à son mode de vie (luxueux),
ont comploté avec certains ouvriers qui faisaient de la construction
dans sa demeure, et quand ils mettaient la toiture, ils cachaient leurs
épées en les mettant dans les bottes de roseau. Puis, ils l’ont surpris
dans sa tente alors qu’il faisait la hijamah, et l’ont traîtreusement
assassiné, l’un d’eux coupant son ventre avec un poignard qu’il avait.
Yazid ibn Mazyad (le dirigeant du temps) les a tous exécuté et pas un
seul d’entre eux a échappé.

Some of the khawarij who disapproved of his (luxurious) mode of life, plotted with certain workmen who were doing some building in his dwelling, and when they were putting on the roofing, they concealed their swords by putting them in the bundles of reeds. Then they surprised him in his tent while he was having himself cupped, and treacherously murdered him, one of them splitting his 'belly with a dagger he had. Yazid ibn-Mazyad (the ruler then) executed them all and not one of them escaped
