Il a été rapporté qu’Anas a dit :
« Lorsqu’une de leurs femmes avait ses menstrues, les Juifs ne mangeait ni buvaient avec elles, et ne les fréquentaient pas. Ils (les Compagnons) ont interrogé le Prophète (ﷺ) à ce sujet, et Allah, le Puissant et Sublime, a révélé l’ayah : "Et ils t’interrogent sur la menstruation des femmes. Dis : ‘C’est un Adha (c.-à-d. un mal)’" [2:222]. Ainsi, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) leur a commandé de manger et de boire avec elles (les femmes menstruées) et de les fréquenter, et de faire tout avec elles sauf le coït. Les Juifs ont dit : "Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ne laisse aucune de nos affaires sans chercher à aller contre elle." Usayd bin Hudayr et ‘Abbad bin Bishr sont allés informer le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et ils ont dit : "Devrions-nous faire le coït avec elles quand elles ont leurs règles?" L’expression du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a beaucoup changé jusqu’à ce que nous pensions qu’il était en colère contre eux, et ils sont partis. Puis le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a reçu un don de lait, alors il a envoyé quelqu’un pour les ramener et il leur a donné à en boire un peu, donc nous savions qu’il n’était pas en colère contre eux. »

It was narrated that Anas said:
“When one of their womenfolk menstruated, the Jews would not eat or drink with them, or mix with them in their houses. They (the Companions) asked the Prophet of Allah (saw) about that, and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed the Ayah: They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: “That is an Adha (a harmful thing).[2:222] So the Messenger of Allah (saw) commanded them to eat and drink with them (menstruating women) and to mix with them in their houses, and to do everything with them except intercourse. The Jews said: 'The Messenger of Allah (saw) does not leave anything of our affairs except he goes against it.' Usaid bin Hudair and 'Abbad bin Bishr went and told the Messenger of Allah (saw) and they said: 'Should we have intercourse with them when they are menstruating?' The expression of the Messenger of Allah (saw) changed greatly until we thought that he was angry with them, and they left. Then the Messenger of Allah (saw) received a gift of milk, so he sent someone to bring them back and he gave them some to drink, so we knew that he was not angry with them.”
